Single verification
Verify one address synchronously. Typical latency is tens of milliseconds for cached domains.
Request#
POST/v1/verify1 credit
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| string | The address to verify (3–320 chars). |
Optional headers: Idempotency-Key (see retries). A GET /v1/verify?email=… form exists for quick checks from the command line.
Example
curl https://new-project-rho-ecru.vercel.app/v1/verify \
-H "Authorization: Bearer vd_live_…" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"email":"person@example.com"}'Response#
Returns the standard verification object. The call is charged one credit unless it is an idempotent replay. Public keys may call this endpoint from the browser; see public keys.
Where to use it#
- Signup and checkout forms, to block typos and throwaway addresses before they enter your list.
- CRM imports, one record at a time, when you need an answer immediately.
- Anything over a few hundred addresses belongs in bulk verification instead.
